I think your account or one of your contacts may have been hacked and I do not know if this will work – its for Yahoo sponsored ads
Start
run
type regedit.exe
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager\Locale
Highlight Enable Messenger Ad
Edit
Modify
Change value to 0
File
Exit
Restart Yahoo! Messenger 9.0.
