The oil will be changed, as will the oil filter, the rest depends on what service you ask for.

if you want a full service, then the air filter, pollen filter(if fitted) and fuel filter should be changed, if it is a petrol car then the spark plugs should be changed as well.

people tend to get their cars serviced with when the mot test is due, this way it is one trip to the garage, plus you know the mot is done once a year, so t its a reminder to get the service done once a year aswell.

as for how often is a difficult question to answer without knowing your annual millage, what type of car you have and how the is car driven, but as a general rule, once a year is fine, if your doing mega mega miles then twice or even three times a year, some taxis have a full service every 6 weeks!!

The brake fluid wont be changed, but you can ask them to test it, they should have a brake fluid tester at the garage, the brake fluid as a general rule, should be changed every 10 years.

as you have only just purchased the vehicle, i would recommend getting the cambelt replaced aswell, unless it has recently been changed and the vehicle has come with a service history book or record, or even receipts, to prove this. as a general rule again the cam belt should be change every 5 years, some cars are more some less. if the cambelt breaks, it usually results in a very costly repair.

if you want the exact service intervals, the exact period of time between servicess, and the period of time the cambelt should be changed i recommendd speaking to a main dealer i.e the main ford car dealership, or nissan etc etc, they should be able to tell you everything you need to know about servicing your car.

hope this helps

it's best to bring in the car before you pay for it and have it gone thru.Believe me , it's worth the c-note.Anyhow, the garage normally only does what YOU ASK THEM TO DO.you must tell them what you want done, ask them what they do for the price...never assume! Todays oils..change every 4,000 miles along with the filter. That's something one should do themselves every year to be able to stick yer head right in there to see a situation before it's a problem....fluid leaks...good luck

It's good to service your car every 2000-3000 miles and yes the mechanic you take it to will change the oil and he will probably check the brake fluid levels and if it's low he will fill it up to the proper amount.
