How should I charge to teach Basic CPR?

how should I
Romel asked:

I need opinions on how much to charge for teaching basic adult/child/infant CPR. The course materials is neither through Red Cross or American Heart, but rather through a different organization. Any advice at all would help. Thanks.

  • Are the certificates going to be nationally recognized and accepted? For most places to accept them, the materials must conform to ECC standards, involve a proctored written exam, and involve hands-on skills approved by an instructor certified to the above standards.

There are not a lot of places that meet these goals that most places will accept. Besides the Red Cross and Heart Association, they are the National Safety Council and the military. There are some others that are accepted, but not as widely (and none are entirely on-line.)

IF it is a fully accredited, recognized program, charge a little less than the local Red Cross does for the same class.

If it is NOT, then charge about 1/2 of the local Red Cross.

This assumes that you have already figured your overhead, advertising, class supplies, etc.
