One thing at a time. While you want to do both, you'll have to decide if you want to lose the fat first or gain the muscle first. For serious gains, its all down to priorities.

If you're looking to slim down (I went from 36 waist to 32 since Jan) then start eating to lose fat. Muscles may be built in the gym but your six pack is definately living in the kitchen somewhere.Cardio is useful in this regard as well (seems you are doing well here anyway) and a strength training program will definately help.

If you're looking to put on muscle then its all down to eating quite a lot, quality mass building exercises at the gym and plenty of rest.

Decide what you want to go for first and things will become clearer.

Links below to articles for both goals.
