how can i get my hair to grow, but i still need to straighten it?

Kim asked:

2 years ago i cut my hair really short and the only way to pull it off was to wear it staright and straighten it everyday. This resulted in my hair becoming really damaged and now it wont grow. I really want long hair but how can it grow if i still need to straighten my hair often.

Straightening your hair doesnt stop it from growing, as the hair grows from the roots and not the ends

What you can do is if you take a shower in the morning and blow dry your hair straight by taking your brush and holding your hair in sections and drying it that way. Instead of damaging your hair everyday. I do it all the time. It works for short and long hair. It will make your hair grow. Hope i helped(:

if you tip your head upside down and then brush it, do that everyday and you will notice a difference!:D

I had to cut my hair a few years ago, because of my lack of knowledge in properly caring for my hair. Over the years, I have it down perfectly and my hair is still growing longer and very healthy, which is most important.

First of all, you need to get a trim every 6-8 weeks. This is SO important. Cut those split ends off before they ‘ride up’ to the root.

You should apply an oil treatment to your hair before you wash it if your hair is dry. If your hair is not dry then skip the oil. I use Carol’s Daughter Tui Hair Oil (it can be found on sephora.com, macys.com, carolsdaughter.com, and HSN.com). It is a fantastic product that smells heavenly.

Next you need to apply a protein treatment to your hair if you are applying heat to it. I use Frederic Fekkai Protein Rx Reparative Treatment Mask. You can purchase it from sephora.com. It has fabulous reviews. Actually, the whole line is great. Your hair loses protein every time you apply heat to it, therefore it is important that you don’t skip this step

Last, you need to make sure that you apply a heat protectant BEFORE you apply heat to your hair.

Once again, if you buy any products but skip the trims then you are setting yourself up for failure and you will unfortunately be back to ‘square one’.

    Good Luck and Best Wishes!!

Well for one try using Mane N’ Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the
time and it makes your hair grow faster. I;d say massage it into
your scalp b/c thats going to help the roots if you just put it on
the ends, it not going to do anything to it. You can find it at
walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water
to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should
use cold or luke warm water on your hair so it won’t damage it.
Even hot water hurts your hair.

Btw if your looking for a cute hairstyle to try out without heat try these:
