dude, what i did back in the day is sit down and explain to them how much better the skateboard on ebay is then the one you are riding now. tell them about the trucks and how they are way more solid and will allow you to turn SAFER. tell them it will all last longer and allow you to learn better because the equipment is professional.
i would tell them you will do chores to pay them back for it. perhaps you could write up a contract and you and your parents agree on it and both sign your names. treat it all like a business meeting.
I told my parents its a way to get me outside, because I used to spend most my time inside; so i told to get me this awesome enjoi skateboard will trucks and everything and they did.
You could offer to work for it by doing extra chores around the house. That way you can better convince them it’s a good idea.
