How to use Autocorrect to capitalize the first letter of all sentences?

how to
Marlena asked:

I have the box checked that says to capitalize the first letter of sentences, but it does not always do this. It only capitalizes some sentences, and it never does it if I am making a numbered list like this:
1. yadda yadda. (It doesn’t capitalize the Y.)
How do I make it work on ALL sentences?

It only seems to work when typing sentences in paragraph format, not when they are part of a number or bullet list. There was no option for capitalizing the first letter of number or bullet lists for either Word or Open Office Writer.
