How much salt should I add to a Turkey brine?

I’m going to brine my first turkey this Thanksgiving, and the recipe says to steer clear of low sodium vegetable broth. I have been to five local stores trying to find regular vegetable broth, but alas, every single store seemed to sell only the low sodium type.

Is it all right if I add a little more than the 1 cup kosher salt the recipe calls for to compensate for the low sodium broth? If so, how much salt should I add?
