If you really like him then you should show him that you still care about him. And if he can’t still see it then you should tell him how you feel. Even if he doesn’t feel the same way as you do, you’ll always know that he knew you liked him. And if he does feel the same way you do then CONGRATZ for you!!
Well, in my experience its best if you just ask him. You are wasting time going back and forth trying to figure it all out, you could be with him already or moving on without him if he doesn’t feel the same way. So this may be a big step for you but you just have to ask him out rite!!!! Good luck.
