How can I clean up and organize my mom’s house as a surprise for her birthday?

if she has a spare room i would get shelving n storage bins n turn that into a storage room.

if this is your first step this will help tremulously when u start the clean up.

the clean part sounds great but if my kids organized my stuff thier way and didn’t consider how I wnat my stuff I would be pretty angry, dispite the gift of a clean house.
Unless your mom has asked for help in organization, I would just do the cleaning. Sounds like a good gift though

Are you sure she wants this? I only ask, because if my house was really in need of cleaning, I would be embarrassed to have my friends cleaning it for me.. Also, having people go through your personal belongings, that might bother your mother – it would me.
Lastly, some people have unhealthy attachments to things.. cleaning up when they are not prepared to let the stuff go, will only mean a new accumulation of junk etc.. Do be sure she wants this first!
If you are sure she wouldn’t mind, then maybe involve as few people as possible, people who are neat and tidy – they will have organizing ideas.
