Here’s the thing. I got hired for a job in late November and they basically forgot about me, after constant emails I finally got scheduled in late February on a friday (around the last couple days). I had a midterm on the Monday but I still went just because I appreciated the idea of making some money and I felt I could still do well on the exam. The problem was when I went the people working didn’t know I was even an employee and wasn’t even scheduled.. They kept me and I started working with this one guy. So I basically lost a night of studies for it. after this all, they started scheduling me regularly. Except they only gave me one training shift and the machine we used to wash dishes had changed my next shift… So I had no idea what I was doing and was alone. I ended up having to read the instructions on the machine to use it. Continuing a two ago i put in a request to book off 2 weeks in april for my final exams, I’m a full time premed student. Anyways they wouldn’t give me that time off which I thought was rude because I gave them time to book me for shifts. I should also add that they haven’t paid me properly because my checks have the wrong spelling of my name. So I went in today and I quit. The guy told me it was such short notice (even though I tried to book off work, like i said earlier..). Now I told them I’d work one last shift this week and then they could send my checks by mail. Do you think it was smart to quit? I feel like I lost my summer job but at the same time I feel like I saved my college grades. They want a resignation lettter, I just feel like if write the reasons in the letter why I quit they might give me a bad reference if I ever needed to list them in a new job application at a new work. What do you people think I should do!?
